Pops of Red and Loads of Style: Inside the Churchill House Makeover

At CrysB Virtual Interior Design, we believe every space has the potential to inspire — and when Hilton College approached us to assist with the renovation of Churchill House, we were truly excited to be part of such a meaningful project.

Churchill House, with its strong traditions and proud spirit, deserved a fresh new look that stayed true to its identity while creating a welcoming, functional environment for students and visitors alike. Our design brief was clear: completely revamp the Junior Prep Room and refresh the Foyer with a vibrant, contemporary feel.

We drew inspiration from the House’s official colour, red, which symbolizes strength, energy, and passion. To avoid an overwhelming effect, we kept the overall design light, airy, and modern, adding strategic pops of red throughout the spaces. The result is a perfect balance — an environment that feels fresh, inspiring, and unmistakably "Churchill."

One of the standout features of the renovation is the custom-designed Name Board by CrysB Interior Design. More than just a nameplate, this striking installation now has a prominent home in the Foyer, symbolizing House pride and unity. To make an even greater impact, we incorporated backlit LED lighting into the design. By night, the board becomes a glowing centrepiece, warmly illuminating the space and highlighting the prestige of Churchill House.

The Junior Prep Room was carefully reimagined to support both study and relaxation, offering a functional layout with stylish, durable finishes that can withstand the dynamic life of Hilton College students. Thoughtful touches, from custom furnishings to curated colour accents, help foster a positive, motivating environment.

We are incredibly proud of the transformation and grateful to Hilton College for trusting us with this special project. Collaborating with institutions that value tradition while embracing fresh ideas is what drives our passion for design.
